We will be focusing on Celebrate's direction as we live into our 2020 vision.
April 16 - June 25
Some of us come to church occasionally, some even regularly. A lot of us pray at least once in a while. A few of us read the Bible. These are thought of as 'spiritual things'. Evidently, we don't spend much time at being spiritual. Meanwhile, most of us spend a lot of time working, negotiating families, on social media, going shopping or doing recreation. We don't think of these as spiritual, but what if they are? What if these things matter even to God? What if the Bible actually has something to say about this stuff? During the series we are going to talk about 'Earthy Spirituality'. We will examine what faith has to do with what we spend most of our time doing.
March 5 - April 9
In Christianity there is a force that has incredible power. It has the power to change lives and alter personalities. I have seen it with my own eyes, experienced it in my own life. This force often is the key difference between people who have good marriages and people who have bad marriages. Really it is a force that has tremendous implications for the quality of all kinds of relationships: parent-child; friendships, co-workers, etc. There have been examples within the last century in which the force has transformed the trajectory of nations.
And yet this force is rarely tapped into by Christians in everyday life. We rarely emphasize intentionally passing the force on to others. In fact, Christians often take pride in the way they are withholding the force from people, instead allowing other ‘forces’ - whose sources originate in hell - to flow through them.
The Bible actually seems to call into question whether you are really a Christian if you don’t move in the ways of the force. This is serious business! So for the season of Lent we are going to look at this force to find out what it is and then be confronted with whether we want more of it in our lives.

God's Favorite Place on Earth
Author Frank Viola indicates there is evidence in the Bible that God literally had a spot where he most liked to dwell. Beginning on January 15 we will take four weeks to look at the characteristics of the people who lived in this location and consider if our region could become one of 'God's favorite places on earth'.

The Presence of Glory
An incredible amount of energy and money are spent to make the holidays the most wonderful time of the year. Many of us feel the need to manufacture special moments without expecting God to show up in any tangible, significant way. During this Christmas season, Celebrate Church will examine the way that hidden within the unlikely, ordinary circumstances of our lives the presence of glory is waiting to emerge.
